Why Diane?

Why Diane?

Why Diane?

I can help you navigate your career path and move you toward excellence so that you flourish and find meaning and satisfaction along the way. For organizations, I create customized programs, workshops, presentations and more that deliver real results to move you toward building better, high-performing, more inclusive workplaces.

At the core of my approach is a focus on wellbeing – an overall net positive experience at work and beyond.

Wellbeing, thriving, and flourishing are highly personal and subjective experiences for which there is no single optimal mix of ingredients. The formal study of wellbeing focuses on connection, engagement, goal setting, mattering, meaning, positive emotions, purpose, relationships, strengths, self-determination, self-efficacy, and vitality. An overall sense of wellbeing can provide fortification in the face of opportunities, challenges, disappointments, or crises. Together, we explore how to do just that for you or your organization.

Through my individualized approach, I work with you and/or your organization to:

  • Articulate and achieve goals

  • Cultivate and amplify workplace engagement, performance, and motivation

  • Enhance leadership, professional development, communication, and conflict resolution skills

  • Experience the extraordinary

My story

My story

My story

I began my career as a real estate/M&A lawyer in Big Law in New York City. After a decade in Big Law, I left law practice to raise my children. However, I did not stop working. I received my MBA from New York University and co-wrote and published The Grownups Guides to Living with Kids in Manhattan (1998, 2003) and Visiting New York City with Kids (2004).

I served, and continue to serve on various non-profit boards, primarily focused on women’s rights, education, conflict resolution, and adolescent health. I was the Founding Vice President of Girls Learn International, a non-profit service learning initiative engaging American students in the efforts for global girls’ education and providing human rights education, advocacy training, and financial support to “partner classrooms” in countries worldwide. During my tenure, we were awarded NGO status by the United Nations. In 2011, Girls Learn International merged with The Feminist Majority Foundation.

In 2002, I trained as a mediator, initially working in divorce, special education, custody and visitation cases and then moving onto commercial and workplace matters, something I continue to do. I returned to law practice in 2006 and remained a part-time practicing lawyer through 2023.

In 2015, my curiosity and love of academia led me to pursue a masters degree in applied positive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania (MAPP) following which I obtained a coaching certification from Columbia University’s Executive Coach Certification program (C3P). I then pursued a life-long dream to earn my doctorate. I completed my EdD in adult learning and leadership at Teachers College/Columbia University. I did my doctoral research on how Big Law partners navigate their careers.

Why dr2? I like words, puns, double entendre, and plays on words. My initials are Dr and I wanted to celebrate earning my doctorate. So, I put them together as DrDr = Dr Squared. In my work as a coach and consultant, that name felt like a good fit as it represents amplifying and leaning into our strengths and savoring our accomplishments.
